A small group of Shockers opened the 2026 season at the Friends First Chance Qualifier on Saturday, and they did so in style! The Shockers picked up 13 event wins during the event at the Heskett Center. Jason Parrish moved up to No. 2 all-time in program history in the 60-meter with a 6.75.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Getting The W. Wichita State men’s hoops picked up a huge win, 78-67, over North Texas on Sunday afternoon behind a 33-point performance from superstar Kenyon Giles. Dillon Battle was the only other Shocker to finish in double figures with 10, but Giles’ 33 points on 13-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-4 from deep, was enough to put Wichita State over the top. Karon Boyd added nine points and six rebounds, while Michael Gray and Will Berg added seven apiece in the win.

The Shockers are back at it on Thursday, Jan. 15, against FAU at 8 p.m. CT on the road.
