Bigger Than Basketball. As head WBB coach Terry Nooner said of the Shockers WBB team’s loss in the annual Play4Kay game, “It’s tough for us because we felt like we could have won it, but at the end of the day, I'm happy to see that we showed some fight and resilience, especially for the great cause we played for today, and for that, I'm proud.”

🔼 Kid(ane) Rocks. Wichita State's Yared Kidane broke his second school record in as many meets, clocking a 1:18.06 in the 600 meters to win the race and set a new meet record Friday afternoon at the Prairie Wolf Invitational. The redshirt-junior from Sweden won his second-straight race in his first track and field season with the Shockers and now holds both the 600 yards and 600 meters school records.
Two other Shockers—Audrey Parson and Faith Ekart—ran Wichita State all-time top-10 times.
🔼 Advantage, Shockers. The Wichita State men's tennis team dominated across the board in their home opener on their way to a 6-1 win over the Omaha Mavericks on Saturday afternoon. The win for the Shockers is their first of the year, improving to 1-2 on the year.
On Sunday, the domination continued, as the Wichita State men's tennis team swept their way to a 7-0 win over the Drake Bulldogs at Genesis Rock Road.
🔼 (Respectfully) Eat Our Dust. Four Wichita State men won individual event titles Saturday at the Mark Colligan Memorial. Competing against Nebraska, South Dakota and Kennesaw State, the Shockers recorded 10 top-three finishes and seven Wichita State all-time top-10 marks.
Ian Schram claimed the first win of the day, running the 10th-fastest mile time in Shocker history, 4:06.20, to pick up his second individual win of the season. Two races later, Josh Parrish claimed his first win of the season, running a season-best 7.96 to win the men's 60-meter hurdles final.
