Good morning! Last season, the AAC led the nation in close games. If the conference trends that way again, Wichita State head MBB coach Paul Mills likes the way the Shockers are built.

"I've always thought of January as being a month where you can identify the teams that are competitive," Mills said. "At the end of the day, that's what we're trying to be."

🔼 Putting the “Magic” in Magic City. The Shockers claimed their first American Athletic Conference victory, defeating UAB 82-70 Saturday evening in Bartow Arena.
 
Salese Blow and Jayla Murray led Wichita State with 24 points apiece, a career high for Murray and career high-tying performance for Blow.  Murray also led the team in rebounding with nine, and Blow shot a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line.

🔼 Bell, Bulls, and Basketball. Wichita State Men’s Basketball hosts South Florida tonight in the Shockers' American home opener. The Shockers are coming off a road loss at Temple in the AAC opener.

Xavier Bell has scored 20 or more in three of the last four games, and reached 1,000 career points on Dec. 17 vs. Kansas City. Bell is one of two 1,000-point scorers on the roster along with Justin Hill, who is 32 assists shy of 500 for his career.
