🌾 ONE BIG THING

🔼 Weekend Winners. Wichita State volleyball went 2-0 on the weekend, taking down Memphis in straight sets on Friday, then beating UAB, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon.

During Sunday’s match, Sydney Dunning tallied 19 kills, Brooklyn Leggett added 12, and Maddie Wilson had 11, while Jordan Heatherly’s 30 assists and Emerson Wilford’s nine digs rounded out a dominant performance from the Shockers.

On Friday evening, WSU posted a .295 hitting percentage to go along with 45 kills and 12 errors, with Legett leading the team with 15 kills. Grace Hett posted a career-high 13 digs, while Dunning set her own career high with seven service aces.

Next up for Shocker volleyball is a trip to Texas to face UTSA on Friday night, then Rice on Sunday afternoon.

🔼 For Charity. Wichita State men’s hoops held a charity scrimmage against Drake on Saturday afternoon. All proceeds from the game benefited Cheese Johnson’s uJump Junior Mentoring Program and the Wichita Children’s Home. Check out some of the best moments from the contest here, here, and here.

🔼 Fall Ball. Wichita State softball’s exhibition game against Oklahoma State has been moved to Stillwater on Thursday, Oct. 16. Your next chance to catch the Shockers at home is Thursday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. against Southern Nazarene.
