Today, WSU announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2025 and basketball unveils game times and TV network appearances

Good morning! Shocker basketball made the most of its quick trip to Irving, Texas at the AAC’s media days.

🌾 ONE BIG THING

Four legendary Shockers were selected as the 2025 Class of Wichita State Pizza Hut Shocker Sports Hall of Fame. The additions of this year's class bring the total of former coaches and student-athletes in the Hall of Fame to 163, while there are 14 at-large selections.

👟 Kellyn Johnson Taylor (2007-2009): the Shocker distance runner was a two-time All-American in 2009 in both the indoor mile where she finished third at the NCAA Championships and in the outdoor 5,000m where she finished 10th at the NCAA Championships. Her final season saw her named as an MVC champion in the indoor mile, indoor 5,000m, indoor 3000m, outdoor 1500m, outdoor 5,000m and 3,000m steeplechase.

🎤 Jim Schaus (1999-2008): the former Athletic Director at Wichita State played a significant role in upgrading the athletic department and ranks among the most influential figures in the department's history. Schaus, working with President Don Beggs, put the University in position for an unprecedented run of success for 20-plus years in a variety of sports.

🎳 Karma Wagner Mason (1975-78): the Shocker women’s bowler was a member of three team national championships in 1975, 1977 and 1978, and is the only woman in college bowling history to win three national team championships.

🥎 Mackenzie Wright (2015-2018): as one of the most decorated softball players in school history, the Shocker softball utility player competed in 217 games and hit .343 with 141 runs, 230 hits, 35 doubles, 3 triples, 14 home runs, 110 RBI and 53 stolen bases. She also helped lead Wichita State to its first-ever NCAA Regional final appearance in 2018.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 For Your Viewing Pleasure. In conjunction with the American Athletic Conference, Wichita State men's basketball has released its 2024-25 game times and TV information. Shocker fans will have at least 12 opportunities to see Wichita State on national TV this season. The Shockers will play on the ESPN family of networks (ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU) 10 times, once on FS1 when the Shockers travel to DePaul on Dec. 14 and once on the CBS Sports Network in the season opener at WKU.

🔼 Back At It. Wichita State looks to entrench themselves in the upper echelon of the AAC standings with a pair of road matches at Charlotte and East Carolina on Friday and Sunday, respectively. The Shockers are coming off a 1-1 week at home, dropping a four-set match to South Florida before bouncing back with a reverse sweep over Florida Atlantic on Sunday. This weekend, the Shockers enter with a conference record of 4-2 as the team looks to continue the climb up the conference standings.

🔼 Second Go ‘Round. Fresh off a second-place finish in their inaugural NCAA tournament, the Wichita State women's bowling program stays home this weekend for the Mid-States Championships at Bowlero Northridge. The competition takes place on Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, October 20, hosted by Wichita State and Newman.

🔼 For Your Viewing Pleasure II. In collaboration with the American Athletic Conference, Wichita State women's basketball has announced game times and television information for the 2024-25 season. ESPN+ will provide coverage of 27 of the 31 games, including all home games (except the exhibition) and all conference matchups. All home games will be played at 6 p.m. on weekdays and 2 p.m. on weekends, with the exception of a few matchups.
