๐Ÿ”ผ No Albatross On His Back. Jose Miguel Ramirez put up his best performance of the season to lead the Shockers to a fifth-place finish in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at Westwood Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon. The performance for Ramirez is by far his best as a Shocker so far, setting new lows for 18- and 54-hole scores.

The Shockers took home fifth place at three strokes under par as a team, with round scores of 290, 287, and 282.

๐Ÿ”ผ No Need to Farm Out Talent. Wichita State head track and field coach Steve Rainbolt announced the addition of Josh Farmer to his coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Farmer joins the Shockers after graduating from UC Irvine, where he was a three-time decathlon All-American and the 2024 Big West decathlon champion.

The San Diego, Calif. native placed 14th at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and competed for Team USA in its victory over Germany in the 2024 Thorpe Cup, the annual international decathlon and heptathlon competition between the two nations.

๐Ÿ”ผ Shocktoberfest FOMO is Real. Mark your calendars, as you do NOT want to miss out on this event!

๐Ÿ”ผ With Room to Spare. Wichita State Women's Bowling was selected 17th in the National Tenpin Coaches Association 2024-2025 Preseason Coaches Poll announced Tuesday. The Shockers are one of just seven schools to receive a first-place vote and the only one to do so outside of the top 10.

The Shockers return nearly every member of the lineup that won a record 11th Intercollegiate Team Championships national title in 2023-24, defeating NCAA champion Jacksonville State to secure the trophy.
