🌾 ONE BIG THING

Strutting Their Stuff. Wichita State baseball fans are curious about the rotation, shortstop, and center field as fall practices hit a new gear. The Shockers will be putting what they know and what they need to learn on full display at Eck Stadium for the rest of the month.

Go here for more info on what these talented newcomers bring to the table.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Pin Your Hopes On This Team. The Wichita State women's bowling team captured their 31st Mid-States Championship Sunday afternoon at Bowlero Northridge, defeating #8 Sam Houston 3-1 in the best-of-five final. It’s the first for Wichita State since capturing the title in 2020-21 and the first tournament championship for the program since the elevation to an NCAA sport this season.

🗣 "It's always a little sweeter to win at home in front of the people who support us." - Holly Harris, head coach

The Shockers placed three on the All-Tournament team, with Sara Duque Jiménez in second, Piper Reams in third, and Madi Phillips in fifth.

🔼 Top Tennis in Tulsa. A run to the doubles semifinals by Alejandro Jacome and Kristof Minarik highlighted the weekend for the Wichita State men's tennis team at the 2024 ITA Central Region Championships at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Minarik/Jacome duo became the sixth Shockers to reach the doubles semifinals at Central Regionals all-time and the first since Andrea Caligiana and Miroslav Herzan did so in 2017.

🔼 Just Needed a Slight Bump. Wichita State battled back to force a fifth set but committed several costly errors in the deciding frame as East Carolina claimed a 25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 25-18, 10-15 victory on Sunday afternoon at Minges Coliseum—all this after the Shockers rolled past Charlotte on Friday.

Wichita State (10-10, 5-3) got a career-high 21 kills from Brooklyn Leggett and a season-best 13 from Sarah Barham on Sunday but misfired from the service line 13 times, including three in the fifth set.

🔼 Watch This Kid. Wichita State's Yared Kidane led the Shocker men to a fifth-place finish out of 29 teams on Friday afternoon at the Bradley Pink Classic.

Kidane, a redshirt junior from Sweden, raced to a fifth-place individual finish over 8K, leading the Shocker men to their fourth-straight top-five Bradley Pink Classic team finish. He ran a personal-best 23:57.95, his first career sub-24-minute performance.
