Good morning, Shocker Nation.

Wichita State finalized its 2026-27 men’s basketball schedule, headlined by 19 regular season games inside Charles Koch Arena, the most in program history. Twelve games land on national television, including a late-night meeting with USC in Lake Tahoe on The CW and the in-state showdown with Kansas State in Kansas City on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max. The Shockers open Nov. 4 against CSUN and visit Kentucky the day after Thanksgiving on ESPN2. Are you ready yet?!

What else are we mixing into today’s piping hot edition of the Shocker Brew? Find out below!

🏐 Digging Machine
🎾 Straight Sets
🌾 And much, much more!

🔼 The Roundhouse Gets Its Due. SLAM Media’s new coffee table book “Buckets List” includes Charles Koch Arena among its 64 iconic college basketball experiences, naming it one of the nation’s hidden gems alongside Gonzaga’s McCarthey Athletic Center and UConn’s Gampel Pavilion. Author Peter Robert Casey writes that Wichita and the Roundhouse don’t get enough credit, pointing to the circular design that packs fans close enough to the floor to make visiting teams feel surrounded. Paul Suellentrop’s full story traces the building’s history from the Dave Stallworth years through the MTXE era to Paul Mills’ push to fill every seat again.

🔼 Digging Machine. Gabi Maas earned American Conference Defensive Player of the Week after piling up 49 digs across two road matches, a conference-best 5.44 per set. The fifth-year libero had 25 against East Carolina and 24 more at Charlotte, and she now paces the league in both total digs and digs per set. Wichita State hosts North Texas on Friday at 6 p.m., with pre-match trick-or-treating around the concourse and free “Fear the Wheat” candy buckets for kids while supplies last.

🔼 Straight Sets All Week. Xin Tong Wang won the American Conference singles championship without dropping a set, closing out her run with a 6-2, 6-1 dismantling of Rice’s Uma Bakaityte in the final. The top seed survived back-to-back tiebreakers against Charlotte’s Amalia Widdowson in the quarterfinals before handling two more Rice opponents to take the title. Wang now heads to the ITA Conference Masters in Rome, Georgia, Nov. 5-8, where a strong showing earns a bid to the NCAA Championships.

🔼 Wearing It Well. Alexis Leyva has been named a Kay Yow Servant Leader, one of just 66 student-athletes nationwide recognized by the Kay Yow Cancer Fund for putting others first with their teams, on campus, and in their communities. Congratulations, Alexis!
