🌾 ONE BIG THING

After kicking off the AAC schedule with a pair of victories, the Shockers look to continue their winning ways on the road at UAB on Friday and at home against Rice on Sunday afternoon. The team is just one of five left in the conference with a 2-0 record in conference play. Wichita State has found their offensive rhythm, and a pair of Shockers are on career milestone watches as setter Izzi Strand enters play on Friday needing just five assists to reach 3,000 for her career, while middle blocker Sarah Barham is 30 kills shy of 1,000.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Defending The Crown. Shocker men’s golf will look for a three-peat at home starting Sunday as the team prepares for the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational. The team will look to replicate last year’s results after firing a 23-under-par three-day score to take home the title. The Shockers will roll into the event with some momentum after Jose Miguel Ramirez put up his best performance of the season with a fifth-place finish on Tuesday at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic.

🔼 Back At It. Shocker women’s golf is getting set to play in Colorado for their second straight tournament, this time, at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. The third tournament of the fall will feature the same Shocker lineup as the last time out, led by Mackenzie Wilson and Kate Tilma who had a pair of top-60 finishes a couple of weeks ago.

🗣️ "I'm glad that we got the chance to play in altitude last week so it's not going to be a big adjustment for us again this week…In the past, the teams that have patience and strong self-discipline have done well at this course. This course is set up to be scored on with big, well-maintained, greens which makes for good putting opportunities." - Tom McCurdy, head coach

As former catchers, the two talk about their roots in baseball, their journey to Wichita State and how playing other positions helps them on the mound.
