What else are we mixing into today’s piping hot edition of the Shocker Brew? Find out below!

🍂 Fall Ball
🥇 Gold in Bogota
🌾 And much, much more!

Wichita State softball opened its fall slate at Wilkins Stadium with scrimmages against McLennan Community College and Oklahoma State, giving Kristi Bredbenner a first look at how a few position battles might shake out. Center field and shortstop are both up for grabs with Jodi Epperson and Chloe Rhine gone. Mickayla Tosch and Mackenzie Rooney are the leading candidates in center, with Tosch arriving off a big summer in the Northwoods League, where she hit .349 with nine home runs and made the All-Star Game. Sophomore Kammie Smith is the top option at shortstop after earning second-team all-conference honors at second base.

🔼 Fall Ball. Wichita State baseball wrapped up its final exhibition of the fall slate this weekend, taking down KCKCC, 7-4, on Saturday afternoon at Eck Stadium.

🔼 Gold In Bogota. Sara Duque Jiménez helped Team Colombia capture the title at the 2026 Pan American Women's Adult Championship in Bogota. The Wichita State senior was joined on the squad by former Shockers Juliana Botero and Laura Plazas, with Botero adding a bronze in singles. Felicia Wong, another Shocker alum, competed for Team Canada. Jiménez has built a strong international résumé, having won all-events gold at the 2025 PANAM Bowling Youth Championship along with three other medals.

🔼 New Episode. Wichita State bowling’s Aleesha Oden and Olivia Lizzi stop by The Roundhouse Podcast to get fans ready for October, touching on things like how Holly Harris is using last season's NCAA runner-up finish as a teaching tool, Oden's favorite moment from that run, Lizzi's bowling family and her mom's notes on body language, plus road-trip snacks and favorite shows. The Shockers open with a scrimmage Oct. 16. Listen here!
