🔼 Shocker Swiffer. In the first back-to-back series of the season, Shocker volleyball came away with a pair of conference wins against Tulane in The Big Easy.

The first win of the weekend came in a thriller as the Black and Gold rallied from two sets down to take the final sets 25-20 and 15-13. Brylee Kelly helped the team with her .381 hitting percentage and 20 kills while Morgan Stout propped up the defense with her team-high seven blocks.

The second game of the weekend went a little differently as the Shockers jumped on the Green Wave, taking three straight sets to earn the win. The Shockers held their opponents to a .160 hitting percentage and forced 18 errors on the match. The Shockers now move to 7-1 in conference play and will face off against Tulsa next weekend to add to try and add to the win total.

🔼 Upsizing. Shocker softball staff grew by one over the weekend as former No. 1 overall NPF pick Lexie Elkins joined on as the Director of Operations for Softball. Elkins joins Shocker softball with three years of coaching experience, most recently at Houston where she was an assistant for two years.

🔼 Race to the Finish. In the final regular season race of the season, both men’s and women’s cross country teams finished in the top five of the competition. Trey Rios led the Shocker men’s team with an individual 10th place finish in the 8K race while Miranda Dick led the women’s team, without two-time AAC Athlete of the Week Lucy Ndungu, with a 17th place individual finish.

🤔 SHOCKER TRIVIA

Killin’ It. Shocker volleyball had an impressive weekend, tallying two wins and showing that they can get the job done on both offense and defense. One Shocker in particular though was killing the game on offense against Tulane.

Our question today—do you know who led Shocker volleyball this weekend in kills?

🌾 ONE BIG THING

Shocker baseball is back after the team took to the diamond for the first time this fall against Cowley in a friendly exhibition game for RV Weekend.

The boys got the win with a 19-6 performance after 14 innings of play, but it was the individual performances from a few Shockers on the diamond that stood out. Alex Birge hit a two-run shot 400 feet to add to the total on the scoreboard, and pitcher Caleb Anderson needed just 11 pitches to get out of an inning.

Shocker baseball will be back in action later this fall in Dallas, TX, to take on Dallas Baptist for the final exhibition game of the season.
