🌾 ONE BIG THING

Shocker men’s basketball’s Corey Washington scored all 19 of his points in the second half to help lead Wichita State to a 79-73 win over former MVC rival, Northern Iowa, Thursday night in Charles Koch Arena. As crucial as Washington's scoring was in the second half, Wichita State's bench was just as critical in the first half as AJ McGinnis (8) and Matej Bosnjak (9) combined for 17 points. Wichita State breaks a tie in the all-time series with UNI, moving 29-28 against the Panthers in the first meeting since 2017.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Lace Them Up. This morning, Shocker men’s and women’s cross country will race at the NCAA Midwest Regional. The men’s team will race in their first 10K of the season while the women will compete in the familiar 6K. The Shockers are coming off fourth-place men's and sixth-place women's team finishes at the AACChampionship where Sarah Bertry led Wichita State with an all-conference performance, placing 14th in the 6K with a time of 21:29.8.

🔼 The Ink Overfloweth. During the opening day of National Signing Week, Shocker Athletics signed top talent through the department, including seven student-athletes who will join WSU softball.

🗣️ "I certainly feel that this is one of the best incoming classes we have had at Wichita State, and it will hit on all major areas of need with pitching, power, speed and defense." - Kristi Bredbenner, softball head coach

🔼 Fall Finale. The Wichita State women's bowling team closes out their fall schedule this week at the Colonial Lanes Classic. The Shockers are off to a strong start in their inaugural NCAA campaign, ranking third in the NTCA Power Ranking Index through this past weekend's matches. Wichita State's 17-8 record includes wins over four top-10 teams with a scoring average of 205 pins per game.

🔼 Hard-Fought Battle. After falling behind by 15 in the first half, the Shockers battled back to tie it up in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Bears held them off to claim an 82-77 victory. Four Shockers finished in double figures, led by sophomore Salese Blow with 17 points. The team is back in Charles Koch Arena on Saturday to take on St. Thomas at 2 p.m.
