🌾 ONE BIG THING

Wichita native Taylor Jameson's electric night led the Shockers to a 69-64 win over St. Thomas on Saturday afternoon in the Roundhouse. The graduate transfer put up 18 points, six assists and four steals, hitting three 3-pointers for the second straight game. Two other Shockers finished in double figures as senior Ornella Niankan scored a season-high 11 points, and senior Aicha Ndour recorded her second 10-point game of the season and grabbed six rebounds.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Waiting For Monday Night. Shocker men’s basketball closes a three-game homestand with a Monday night matchup against Monmouth in the Roundhouse. As it stands, the series between Wichita State and Monmouth is tied at 1-1. Justin Hill leads the team in points (19.7 ppg) and assists (5.0 apg), and is second in rebounding (5.7 rpg), and six Shockers are averaging better than nine points per game through the first three games of the season.

🔼 Playoff Time. Following a loss to UTSA in Shocker volleyball’s regular season finale, the team is set to host the AAC championship, beginning Friday, November 22 at Charles Koch Arena as the tournament’s No. 4 seed. The Shockers will host No. 5-seeded Tulsa in the tournament's opening round on Friday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m.

🔼 Most Valuable Player. This weekend at the Colonial Lanes Classic, Ashtyn Woods earned her second career tournament MVP award, leading Wichita State women’s bowling to a seventh-place finish. Woods paced the field with a 224 average, rattling off games of 235, 226, 228, 204, and 227. The Shockers finished the fall portion of their schedule with a 22-16 overall record and will be back in action again beginning January 17.

🔼 The Finish Line. Wichita State cross country’s Yared Kidane and Sarah Bertry led the Shockers in their final race of the season at the NCAA Midwest Regional. In his first career 10K race, Kidane ran 30:19.5 to finish 34th, leading the Wichita State men to a 14th -place team finish, their fifth-straight top-15 regional team finish. Senior Sarah Bertry clocked her first career sub-21 minute 6K time in her final collegiate race, running 20:59.0 to lead the Shocker women to a 24th-place team finish.
