🌾 ONE BIG THING

Sometimes you just have to win ugly, and that's just what happened Monday night in Charles Koch Arena as Wichita State overcame some woes to complete a comeback win over Monmouth, 70-66. Corey Washington scored a game-high 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including 2-for-4 from three while Matej Bosnjak made his first career start and logged 12 points on a perfect shooting night. Sitting at 4-0 this season, the Shockers will look to remain undefeated on Friday when the team faces Saint Louis in Kansas City for the Hall of Fame Classic.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Cut Short. Standout Shocker women's tennis sophomore Xin Tong Wang's run at the NCAA Singles Championships ended before it could really begin, as she suffered an injury early on in her first match. Wang suffered the injury midway through the first set, up 4-2, but after attempting to play through the injury, she was forced to retire tied 4-4.

🔼 Tough Test. Facing off against the No. 9-ranked Oklahoma Sooners, Shocker women’s basketball fell 79-49 on Tuesday evening in Charles Koch Arena. Wichita State held Oklahoma 18 points below its season scoring average of 97, forcing 24 Sooner turnovers. Three Shockers finished in double figures, led by redshirt junior Jayla Murray with 14, and graduate transfer Taylor Jameson and junior Bre'Yon White put up 10 apiece.

🔼 Grinding Out A Win. Shocker men’s basketball’s Corey Washington did not take a three-pointer in 2022-23 while starting 24 games for Saint Peter's. Now two seasons later, he is the player the Shockers absolutely want rising up for a crucial shot, as evidenced by Monday's game against Monmouth, a 70-66 win at Koch Arena.

🗣️ "It's stuff I work on every day. It just goes into all the work I've put in. Ready to make the shot." - Corey Washington
