🌾 ONE BIG THING
The Wichita State women's bowling team looks to continue their strong start to the 2024-25 season with a road trip to the SFA Ladyjack Classic. The tournament is hosted by fellow CUSA member Stephen F. Austin and includes the top five ranked teams in the country among the 18 total teams. The Shockers are coming off a win at the Mid-States Championship, defeating No. 8 Sam Houston, 3-1, in the best-of-five final.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Rubber Meets the Road. On the heels of two victories against longtime rival Rice, Wichita State volleyball hits the road for crucial matches against the conference favorite Owls and Tulane on Friday and Sunday, respectively. The Shockers have won four consecutive matches to keep pace with the conference leaders as WSU enters the week at 9-3 in AAC play, good for a tie for third place with East Carolina.
🔼 Working Back. The Wichita State doubles duo of Alejandro Jacome and Kristof Minarik will have an opportunity to punch their ticket to the 2024 NCAA Individual Championships at the ITA Central Sectionals in Fort Worth, Texas this week. The duo fell in three sets in their first match against a team from Ohio State but will pick up play in the consolation bracket this morning against TCU.
🔼 The Roundhouse Podcast. On the latest episode of the Roundhouse Podcast, the crew wraps up fall practices for Wichita State softball and baseball. Shocker softball associate head coach Elizabeth Economon discusses how middle infielders Taylor Sedlacek and Sami Hood are on the rise as juniors, and the return of Lauren Lucas. Plus, baseball head coach Brian Green gets into Jay Bilas’ theories on playing a role on a team, how the weekend rotation might look and the skills of newcomer Owen Washburn.
