🔼 Survived and Swept. In the first round of the NIVC, Shocker volleyball took care of business with a sweep against Arkansas State. Throughout the match, the Shockers fell behind just twice in the three sets they played.
Both the offense and defense shined as four Shockers finished with eight or more kills, and as a team, finished with a .308 hitting percentage. Natalie Foster held down the defense with her four blocks and Izzi Strand spread the ball around effectively with her 33 assists on the night.
Now, the Shockers advance to Round 2 of the NIVC where they will play Tulsa this afternoon for yet another chance to keep playing.
🔼 All In The Family. Shocker golfer Kate Tilma comes from a golfing family, and its the people that she’s been around that have inspired her and coached her to this point in her golf career. Through the first half of the season, Tilma finished with a 73.7 stroke average (second on the team), and capped off the fall with a fifth place finish at the Payne Stewart Memorial.

🔼 Spider Free Zone. After honoring 20 seasons at the Charles Koch Arena, the Shockers exterminated the Spiders behind a huge 47 point second half that led to a 80-68 win. The offense exploded onto the scene as five Shockers finished in double-digits. Colby Rogers led the team with 19 points and joining the 1K club, while Xavier Bell added another 17 to the scoreboard.
The 7-1 Shockers will enter SEC country this weekend as they face off against Missouri in front of a nationwide audience on ESPN2 at 2 p.m.
🔼 Guess Who’s Back. Indoor track and field season is upon us, and the Shockers are already through day one of the Shocker Multi at the Heskett Center. A total of nine student-athletes will compete through today’s meet, including Destiny Masters, the two-time all-conference honoree.
