Shocker Brew 12/11: Championship Material
Today, the Shockers are headed to the championship!
Good morning! It’s championship season! Shocker volleyball is headed to the NIVC Championship after defeating Montana State in their Fab Four matchup. Read about how they got the job done this weekend to advance to the championship game.

🌾 ONE BIG THING
Shocker volleyball brought out the broomsticks for the third time this postseason and will advance to the NIVC Championship after a 3-0 win over Montana State.
Morgan Stout brought the offense and recorded 14 kills on the match, while as a team, the Shockers finished with an impressive .313 hitting percentage. Gabi Maas and Morgan Weber helped the offense stay in motion with a combined 25 digs in the match as the Shockers finished with 16 more digs than Montana State.
The Shockers will hit the road for the first time during their NIVC Tournament run to face off against UTEP in El Paso, TX.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Downtown. Facing off against South Dakota State at INTRUST Bank Arena, the Shockers were unable to get the offense going in a 79-69 loss. Colby Rogers and Harlond Beverly carried the load for Wichita State on offense with 39 of the Shockers’ 69 points. Rogers drained five three-pointers from deep, and as a team, the Shockers shot 11-27 from beyond the arc.
The loss marks the second in a row for Wichita State men’s basketball, but the Shockers will look to bounce back against Southern Illinois inside the Charles Koch Arena on Saturday.
🔼 In-State Matchup. Shocker women’s basketball went toe-to-toe against in-state foe Kansas but was unable to come away with a victory. Off the bench, Aniya Bell led the scoring charge with a team-high 12 points. Sierra Morrow also added 12 points as the other Shocker to finish the game in double-digits.
Next up, the team will hit the road to face off against Missouri State in Springfield, MO, on Saturday at 1 p.m.
