🏐 Volleyball is into the NIVC’s Fab Four

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 On To The Fab Four. After a pair of hard-fought sets to open up the match, the Shockers were able to close it out in three straight to sweep Drake and move into the Fab Four of the NIVC.

Morgan Stout and Natalie Foster each came up big with double-digit kill games while also locking down the net with six and seven blocks, respectively. Sophia Rohling also helped protect the net with another six blocks as the Shockers finished with nearly double the amount of spike-stuffers when all was said and done.

The focus now shifts to Montana State where the Shockers will have a chance to move on to the championship match on Saturday at 1:00pm.

🔼 Hall of Fame. Joining the 2023 Hall of Fame class is Grier Jones, the Wichita State’s winningest coach in Shocker men’s golf history.

🗣️ "Grier is just a staple of college coaching and is such a legend. He's always done things the right way and his peers have always respected the time that Grier had with them. He's a guy everyone has learned from." - Judd Easterling

During his time with the Shockers, Jones compiled 49 tournament wins including 15 conference championships, and was the Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year 13 times in his career.

🔼 Going Downtown. The Shockers are heading to INTRUST Bank Arena for its matchup against South Dakota State this Saturday at 6:00pm where the team will look to improve to 8-2 on the season. In the program’s history, the Shockers are 8-4 when playing downtown, and with a win, would mark one of its best starts to a season since 2019.

Xavier Bell will enter the game as one of the most reliable Shockers on the court after finishing with double figures in eight of his nine games this season. The team’s leading scorer, Colby Rogers, comes in averaging 16.6 points per game and has made a three-pointer in each game this season. Big man Quincy Ballard is currently 12th in the nation with 22 blocks on the season as the Shockers look to continue their defensive domination.

Home Sweet Home. Wichita State volleyball is on a tear this postseason, and because of it, have tallied a home win total that hasn’t been accomplished for some time. The team’s sweep of Drake marked the Shockers’ 12th win at Charles Koch Arena this season.

It’s here, and it’s glorious.

Shocker softball has released its schedule for the 2024 season, and the road to a fourth straight NCAA appearance will not be an easy one. The schedule features eight NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago, and for the first time, the Shockers will host the AAC Championship.

The season will kick off on Feb. 9 when Wichita State will head to Huntsville, TX, while the home opener will take place a month later on March 8 against one of the AAC’s newest members, Florida Atlantic.
