🌾 ONE BIG THING

Following the Shockers’ conference-opening win against Tulane, star guard Tre’Zure Jobe was awarded the AAC Conference Player of the Week for her 21-point, eight-assist performance. When it mattered most, Jobe came up big as she scored the final eight points for Wichita State in the last 1:41 of action.

🔼 Preseason Praise. Baseball season is coming soon to Eck Stadium, but pitcher Caden Favors is already receiving accolades. The left-handed thrower was selected to the American Athletic Conference preseason all-conference team.

Favors is coming off a season in which he handled nearly every role on the Wichita State pitching staff, from starter to long reliever to closer. The southpaw finished the year 3-4 with a 4.04 ERA in 21 appearances, three of which were starts. He worked 42.1 innings, striking out 37 while issuing 15 walks, and held opponents to a .261 batting average.

🔼 All Time High. Wichita State student-athletes set a school record for the second consecutive semester with a 3.45 cumulative grade-point average for the Fall of 2023. The mark breaks the all-time record of 3.406 set during the Spring 2023 semester. It also marks the 37^th consecutive semester of Shocker student-athletes earning higher than a 3.00 cumulative grade-point average department-wide.

High Percentage Shots. Wichita State men’s basketball enters the new year at 8-5 with a lot to look forward to during AAC play. Scoring points wins games, and one Shocker in particular is scoring at a highly efficient rate.
