🏀 Preview of the Shockers’ matchup against Tulsa
🥎 Barnard named First Team Preseason All-American
🌾 And much, much more!

🌾 ONE BIG THING

Shocker men’s basketball will tip off the first of two meetings this season against Tulsa tonight at 6 p.m. Wichita State heads into the series with the all-time series lead at 77-63, and the Shockers have won three straight and are 12-2 against the Golden Hurricane since joining the AAC.

Harlond Beverly enters the matchup having scored in double figures in each of the last three games. He's averaging 15.7 points per game on 61.3 % shooting from the field in that span. Colby Rogers (15.5 ppg; leading scorer) has made a three-pointer in all 20 games this season and multiple in 15 of the 20. He currently leads the conference in total 3-point field goals made (53) and 3-point percentage (38.4%).

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Shocker Stars. Four former Shocker standouts were given legendary status over the weekend. Wichita State's 2024 Pizza Hut Shocker Sports Hall of Fame class, including Charlie Giaudrone, Alex Harden, Taryn Torgerson and Cacy Williams, was inducted during halftime of the Wichita State men's basketball game against SMU on Jan. 28.

🔼  Impact Player. Following a placement on USA Softball’s Top 50 Watch List, Addison Barnard was named to Softball America’s Preseason All-American First Team. The senior slugger was the only player named to the team from a non-Power-5 school. Barnard is coming into her fourth season with the Shockers and will look to be a difference-maker on the team after battling season-long injuries in 2023.

🔼 Needed It. The Shockers can thank the Mustangs, again, for giving Wichita State a needed and dramatic win. The Shockers ended an eight-game losing streak, defeated a team No. 35 in the NCAA NET and No. 40 in Ken Pomeroy's rankings, and extended their dominance over the Mustangs. The win on Sunday win showed the team how maturity and simple plays can help.

🗣️ "It feels like a step in the right direction. Our last five games have been really, really close. We just haven't been able to capitalize at the end. [Against SMU], we did that." - forward Harlond Beverly

🤔 SHOCKER TRIVIA

The Hall Is Packed
