🌾 ONE BIG THING
📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Surging Ahead. Wichita State has caught fire with five wins in its last six games and climbed into American Conference contention at 15-9 overall and 7-4 in league play, setting up crucial home showdowns against co-leaders USF on Wednesday and Tulsa on Saturday at Charles Koch Arena. Former Shockers from the Mark Turgeon and Gregg Marshall eras are rallying fans on social media to pack the arena and recreate the electric atmosphere that once saw crowds average 10,000-plus for 17 straight seasons (2003-04 to 2019-20). This week represents a chance for the Shockers to make a serious push for another American Conference title; they won the league in 2021 under Isaac Brown with a memorable victory over No. 6 Houston.

🔼 Standing Out. Wichita State men’s hoops’ Karon Boyd earned American Conference honorable mention recognition this week for his standout performances! Boyd averaged 18.0 points and 6.5 boards per game last week as the Shockers defeated Charlotte and Tulane. Boyd posted a double-double in the victory over the Green Wave.

🔼 Standing Out. Wichita State's Giorgia Roselli earned American Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week recognition on Tuesday after going a perfect 6-0 across singles and doubles in victories over Power Four opponents Nebraska and Kansas. Roselli dominated at the top positions without dropping a single set all week, improving to 6-1 in singles and 5-1 in doubles this spring with her only losses coming to a No. 12-ranked singles player and No. 44-ranked doubles team.

🔼 On The Court. Wichita State freshman Pablo Roche Alcaya was named American Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday after posting a perfect 5-0 record across singles and doubles in victories over Oral Roberts and UTSA. Alcaya becomes the first Shocker men's tennis player to win conference player of the week honors since Nicolas Acevedo on February 1, 2022.

🔼 Ten Pins. Wichita State Bowling is now up to No. 4 in the NTCA February Coaches Poll! The Shockers (59-19) vaulted past Conference USA rivals Louisiana Tech and Nebraska with 1,608 points following a third-place showing at the Northeast Classic and a runner-up finish at the Saints Invite. Jacksonville State remained the unanimous No. 1 with 41 of 44 first-place votes, while Conference USA continues to dominate the top six spots in the poll.
