🔼 Happy Baseball Season! Wichita State begins the 2026 baseball season and the 92nd year of Shocker baseball with a four-game home series against Northern Colorado at Eck Stadium, starting today at 3:05 p.m. and featuring a Saturday doubleheader and Sunday finale, all broadcast on ESPN+. The Shockers are looking to bounce back from a 20-36 campaign in 2025 with a near-complete roster overhaul that includes just seven returners and 31 newcomers who bring 77 combined seasons of college baseball experience. Head coach Brian Green, who earned his 300th career victory last season, will play 21 of the first 26 games at home at Eck Stadium while unveiling a revamped coaching staff.

🔼 Weekend Opportunity. Wichita State Softball heads to the State's Up Invitational in San Marcos, Texas, this weekend for five games, including matchups against No. 9 Arkansas and No. 18 Clemson. The Shockers went 1-4 at last weekend's Getterman Classic but finished strong as Ava Sliger tossed a one-hit, complete-game shutout against New Mexico, improving her national rankings to 4th in WHIP (0.44) and 11th in shutouts.

🔼 Game Day. Wichita State travels to Houston to take on conference-leading Rice tonight at 7 p.m. in Tudor Fieldhouse, marking the first meeting between the teams at Rice's home venue. Graduate guard Abby Cater leads the Shockers in scoring at 12.0 points per game and ranks third in the conference in steals with 2.3 per game, while fellow graduate and Wichita native Jaila Harding averages 12.2 points and 2.8 three-pointers per contest, ranking second in program history for single-season threes with 71. 🔼 Forward Together. Wichita State President Richard Muma welcomed softball head coach Kristi Bredbenner and baseball head coach Brian Green to his "Forward Together" podcast to discuss their upcoming seasons and the pride of representing Shocker Athletics.

🔼 On Court. Wichita State (7-3) heads to Manhattan today to face Kansas State (1-2) at 4 p.m. at the Body First Tennis Center, fresh off a 4-3 victory over Kansas on Sunday that marked the program's first win over the Jayhawks since 2021. Full preview here.
