What a finish in Greenville! The Shockers gutted out a 92-89 double overtime win at East Carolina, thanks to two clutch Kenyon Giles shots: a four-point play to force OT, then a steal-and-score to force double OT. TJ Williams exploded for a career-high 27 points on 11-of-15 shooting and delivered the go-ahead bucket in the final minute of 2OT.

🔼 Ranked and Ready. The Shockers cracked No. 24 in the latest ITA rankings, their highest since 2018 and tops among all American Conference teams. WSU (9-3) is riding a seven-match winning streak, its longest since 2017, with six Power Four victories along the way, including wins over ranked SMU and Iowa. The doubles duo of Giorgia Roselli and Xin Tong Wang climbed to No. 9 nationally, setting a new program record for highest doubles ranking. Wang also earned a No. 113 singles ranking, her 13th career appearance in the poll. Next up: Oral Roberts at home Feb. 21 before a two-week break.

🔼 Tee Off. The Shockers open their spring season today at the Rio Verde Invitational in Arizona, riding a strong fall that produced four top-five team finishes, which is the most in a single season since 2017-18. Senior Mackenzie Wilson paced the squad with a 74.7 stroke average, 36 birdies, and three top-10s. Last year's Rio Verde trip was forgettable (8th, no individual top-20s), so there's motivation to make a statement in the 18-team field.

🔼 Texas-Bound. Wichita State softball is off to Arlington, Texas, for the Boerner Invitational this weekend, facing South Dakota, UT Arlington, and former MVC rival Creighton (twice). WSU went 1-2 last weekend with both losses to ranked teams, but the bats came alive with six home runs after going homerless over the first five games. Full preview here.

🔼 What’s Next. No. 4 Wichita State bowling heads to Lincoln this weekend for the Big Red Invite, the premier tournament in college bowling, featuring all eight of the nation's top-ranked teams. The Shockers finished runner-up here last year behind an MVP performance from Mary Orf and have been one of the hottest teams in the country, climbing to No. 4 after a runner-up finish at the Saints Invite. WSU faces a gauntlet that includes No. 1 Jacksonville State, No. 2 Vanderbilt, and host No. 6 Nebraska across 11 matches Friday through Sunday.
