🌾 And much, much more!
🌾 ONE BIG THING

The Parrish twins made history on Friday night at the Steve Miller Invitational in Manhattan, both shattering the program's 200-meter record. Jason Parrish set the new mark at 21.01, with twin brother Josh right behind at 21.07. Josh also won the long jump with an indoor PR of 24'5.5" and took the 60-meter hurdles in 7.71, just a hundredth off his school record. In a cool family twist, Armstrong's nephew Jabari Armstrong moved to No. 9 all-time in the 60-meter hurdles with a PR of 7.89. On the women's side, Jelese Alexander joined the six-meter club in the long jump (19'8.75", No. 8 in school history). The Shockers wrap up the regular season and head to Birmingham for the American Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 27-28.
📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Good Signs. The Roundhouse was rocking on Saturday night. A season-high 8,094 packed Koch Arena for Mike Kennedy Night and watched the Shockers roll Temple 69-57 behind Kenyon Giles' 27 points. Wichita State men’s hoops has won three straight and five of six to hold second place in the conference. Emanual Okorafor posted a career-high 13 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double, while T.J. Williams added 12 points coming off his big outing in last week's double-OT thriller at ECU. Former Shockers from the 1976, 2006, and 2016 MVC championship teams were honored at halftime, and the kids were back on the tunnel railing hunting autographs. It's feeling like the good old days again in Wichita.

🔼 Making History. Wichita native Jaila Harding made history Saturday at the Play4Kay pink game, breaking Wichita State women’s basketball’s 26-year-old single-season three-point record en route to 19 points in a 62-61 nail-biter over UTSA. Harding drained four threes to push her season total to 75, surpassing Courtney Sims' mark from 1999-2000. The Shockers (6-21, 3-11) used a dominant third quarter, outscoring the Roadrunners 25-1, to build a lead they'd need every bit of. UTSA cut it to one in the final seconds, but Jaida McDonald came up with a game-saving block to seal it. Diamond Richardson added 11 off the bench, and Taya Davis dished a team-high five assists. Next up: at UAB on Wednesday.

🔼 Undefeated Weekend. Wichita State softball capped a flawless 5-0 run at the Boerner Invitational with a 14-6 run-rule rout of South Dakota on Sunday. Gabby Scott was the star, going 2-for-2 with five RBI, including a two-run homer, marking her second of the season. Ausha Moore was a force on the basepaths, scoring four runs and reaching base every time up. Jodie Epperson matched that with a 4-for-4 day featuring two doubles. Gabby Fakes picked up her first win as a Shocker in the circle, and a walk by Kinzey Woody in the sixth ended things via run rule. The Shockers (8-5) head to Columbia, Mo., next for the Mizzou Invitational starting on Friday against Drake.

🔼 Eight Straight. Make it eight in a row! No. 24 Wichita State women’s tennis (10-3) blanked Oral Roberts 7-0 on Saturday at Wichita Country Club, the Shockers' first sweep of the season. WSU won the first set on all six singles courts and didn't drop more than four games in any set. Theodora Chantava set the tone with a 6-2, 6-0 cruise at No. 1, while Sati Aubakirova rolled 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4. The Shockers now enjoy a two-week break before visiting UTSA on March 6.
🔼 Knocked ‘Em Down. Wichita State bowling took down the nation’s No. 1 team in Jax State to win the Big Red Invite on Sunday afternoon. The Shockers picked up wins in Game 2 (228-206), Game 4 (232-192), Game 6 (268-224), and Game 7 (279-192) to claim the 4-3 victory and secure the tournament win.
