Wichita State MBB (17-10, 7-7) continues to be the hottest team in the American as they racked up a 78-67 win over Tulane Sunday afternoon.
Good morning, Shocker Nation! Wichita State MBB (17-10, 7-7) continues to be the hottest team in the American as they racked up a 78-67 win over Tulane Sunday afternoon in Charles Koch Arena. The six-game win streak is the longest of the Paul Mills era and the longest since the Shockers won eight straight in 2021.
Xavier Bell notched his second straight game with 20+ points and seventh of the season behind a game-high 23 points. After having his double figure streak snapped at FAU, Corey Washington bounced back with a 19-point, 8-rebound afternoon on 7-of-11 field goals.

๐ผ Everyone Was Bowled Over. Wichita State added to their impressive spring with a second-place finish at the Big Red Invite at Hollywood Bowl. The Shockers went 8-3 over the tournament's three days, highlighted by a pair of victories of #4 Arkansas State.
Senior Mary Orf was named Tournament MVP with a 232.25 average, while Piper Reams (211.0 - 7th) and Ashtyn Woods (207.25 - 9th) joined Orf in the top 10.

๐ผ A Nickel For Your Thoughts. The Wichita State men's tennis team picked up a pair of victories on Sunday evening, beating the UTSA Roadrunners, 4-2, at UTSA Tennis Center, and defeating the Incarnate Word Cardinals later in the day at Mabry Tennis Center, 4-2.
With the two wins, Wichita State is now 5-5 and has won five matches in a row!

๐ผ 4 Hundo Wins For Coach Bredbenner. Wichita State earned a doubleheader split on Sunday evening at Love's Field, falling to No. 2/2 Oklahoma, 8-1, and beating Abilene Christian, 3-1.
The win over Abilene Christian was the 400th victory for Wichita State Head Coach Kristi Bredbenner at the helm of the Shockers.

๐ผ This Kid Does It Again. Wichita State's Yared Kidane finished second in the 800 meters at the Arkansas Qualifier with a personal-best time of 1:47.21. The redshirt-junior from Sweden increased his lead on the rest of the AAC field to almost three seconds and moved up to No. 25 in the NCAA rankings in the 800 meters in the final meet before the AAC Indoor Championships.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Kate Campos ran a personal best time of 8.37 in the final to take fifth and improve her mark at No. 5 in school history. She ranks sixth in the AAC in the event.

๐ผ Hawkeyes to the Home Court. The Wichita State women's tennis team hosts Iowa for a match this morning at 11 a.m. CT.
The Shockers are 4-4 on the year with wins over Wyoming, Kansas State, Oral Roberts, and Kentucky.
Theodora Chantava, Xin Tong Wang, and Anne Knuettel are tied for the team lead in singles victories with four. Knuettel has the best winning percentage in singles with a 4-1 record (0.800). Kudryavtseva and Chantava lead the Shockers in doubles win with five, all coming paired together, and they have a 5-1 record as a duo this season.

๐ผ Late Momentum On the Links. The Wichita State women's golf team finished eighth in a 20-team field at the Rio Verde Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Rio Verde Country Club behind a team score of 899, 35 strokes over par, and one stroke behind seventh place.
The Shockers overcame a tough start in the tournament to finish in the top ten as a team. Mackenzie Wilson saved her best for last, recording a one-under round to end the tournament. She and Amelie Paul tied for 21st to lead the Shockers to the eighth-place finish.

๐ผ A Wave of Regret. The Shockers' second quarter slump gave the Green Wave the go ahead as Wichita State fell 68-64 in Fogelman Arena.
Junior Princess Anderson led all scoring with a career high 25 points, her third 20-point performance in four games, and sophomore Salese Blow put up 17 points with four steals. Five Shockers grabbed five or more rebounds, with redshirt-junior Jayla Murray leading the way at seven.
