🌾 ONE BIG THING

After a successful opening weekend in Little Rock where the Shockers came away with a 2-1 record, Wichita State heads to the Jacksonville College Classic for three games against a trio of college baseball's best programs. The team will face off against two top 20 teams, No. 14 Virginia and No. 18 Iowa, as well as Auburn over the three-game stretch. The Shockers come into the tournament never having faced off against Virginia or Auburn, but lead the all-time series against the Hawkeyes 12-0.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼  Weathered The Storm. Wichita State dominated nearly every phase in the win over Tulsa, 79-63, Wednesday night at the Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers have now won 11 straight in the series with Tulsa at home. The team forced a season-high 22 turnovers that turned into 29 points and held Tulsa to 2-of-20 from three-point range. Colby Rogers led a balanced scoring attack with 19 points, but it was Kenny Pohto who had his best game in over a month after totaling 16 points and seven rebounds on 7-of-10 shooting.

🔼  Championship Bound. It’s championship season for Shocker track and field as the team will head to Birmingham, AL, to compete in the AAC Indoor Championship. Coming off his second conference award is Jaleel Montgomery who will race in the 60m event. The hurdler-turned-jumper, Yuben Goncalves, will compete in the long jump and triple jump to try and earn some hardware as a senior.

🔼  Next Challenge. Coming into the weekend 3-2 on the season, Shocker softball will close out February at the Razorback Invitational with five games in three days against Illinois State, Arkansas and UT Arlington. Wichita State is fresh off its visit abroad in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge where the Shockers came away with one win against the team's three ranked opponents. CC Wong and Bailey Urban enter the weekend fresh off of being named to the All-Tournament Team in Mexico with Urban also earning a spot on the AAC Weekly Honor Roll. Pitchers Lauren Howell, Alex Aguilar and Alison Cooper will be the ones leading the Shockers from the circle.

🔼 Grand Canyon State of Mind. The Shocker women's golf team will return to the tee box to restart their season in Arizona today at the Rio Verde Invitational. The three-day tournament will mark the 13th time in 14 seasons the Shockers will tee it up at Rio Verde where the team’s best finish was second place during the 2014-15 season. Competing for the Shockers will be senior Madison Slayton, sophomores Kate Tilma and Mackenzie Wilson, and freshmen Hillary Currier and Lauren Thiele.
