Good morning! Sunday night, the Shockers are going dark. Literally. Wichita State men’s basketball is looking for Shocker Nation to black out The Roundhouse for its game against Florida Atlantic this Sunday.

🌾 ONE BIG THING

Wichita State men’s basketball picked up an 84-64 win over UTSA after a huge first-half performance saw the Shocker go into halftime with a 20-point lead. Four Shockers finished in double digits on the night in the wire-to-wire victory with Colby Rogers leading the way with a game-high 18 points. Harlond Beverly added 16 points and Quincy Ballard and Xavier Bell each chipped in 11. Wichita State finished the game a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line while the Roadrunners missed 12 of its 25 attempts at the line.

🔼 The Time Is Now. Shocker softball is ready for its 2024 season-opening tournament down in Huntsville, Texas in the Bearkat Classic. Wichita State will face off against Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston State and UNLV in the three-day trip down in the Lone Star State. Head coach Kristi Bredbenner is heading into her 13th season at the helm and comes into the opening matchup against the Lumberjacks with a 9-3 record in season openers.

🔼 On The Road Again. Shocker women’s tennis is hitting the road once again. This time, the team will head to Lexington, KY, to face off against the Kentucky Wildcats. On the road this season, the Shockers are 3-1 and are coming off an impressive 7-0 sweep in Tulsa over Oral Roberts last weekend. The meeting between the two teams will be only the second time in series history, and the first time this century.

🔼  Strong Start. In the spring-opening tournament down in Cancun, Mexico, Wichita State men’s golf finished fourth overall, and three Shockers finished inside the top 20. Michael Winslow led the team with a 2-over par tournament as he finished in a tie for fifth. Blake Lorenz battled back after an opening round 78 to shoot 1-under par in the next two rounds to place ninth with a 5-over par tournament.
