🔼 Let’s Tailgate. Shocker Nation, mark your calendars! Wichita State is throwing a free pregame tailgate on Saturday, March 7 from 12:30–2:30 p.m. outside Charles Koch Arena ahead of the men's basketball game against FAU. The event features free food and drinks (first come, first served), music, yard games, and a pep rally with Shocker Sound and spirit squads. The first 500 attendees score an exclusive "Fear the Wheat" T-shirt. Tipoff is at 3 p.m., with Senior Day ceremonies for Kenyon Giles, Karon Boyd and Emmanuel Okorafor beginning at 2:45 p.m. A win would clinch the No. 2 seed and a triple bye in the American Conference Tournament.

🔼 Midweek W. That’s another double-double for Wichita State women’s basketball’s Abby Cater! The Shockers defeated North Texas, the fourth-place team in the American Conference, last night, 60-55. Cater posted 20 points and 10 rebounds in the victory, while Treasure Thompson added 13 points and five boards. Wichita State has now won three of its last four. Up next: the regular season finale on March 7 on the road against Memphis at 2 p.m.

🔼 Conference Star. Sophomore Zaid Al Mashni was named American Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week after going 4-0 across a perfect 3-0 week for the Shockers. The Jordan native secured crucial doubles points in wins over Abilene Christian and No. 52 Nebraska, then clinched the upset over the Huskers with a three-set singles win at No. 2.

🔼 Teed Off. Michael Robson shot 8-under 208 to pace the Wichita State men’s golf to a sixth-place finish at the Golden Nugget Invitational in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Shockers posted rounds of 281-282-285 for a 16-under 848 team total, going under par in all three rounds. Robson, who never carded a round higher than 70, tied for eighth individually, while Jose Carletta tied for 18th at 5-under 211. Host Lamar ran away with the team title at 41-under. Next up: the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes, March 31–April 1.

🔼 Man Of The Year. Wichita State men's basketball coach Paul Mills is one of 25 finalists for the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award, presented by CollegeInsider.com to a Division I coach who wins with integrity on and off the court. Mills has guided the Shockers to their first 20-win season since 2020, improving his win total in each of his three seasons at WSU. The winner will be announced in Indianapolis during the men's NCAA Tournament.

🔼 Mark Your Calendar. Wichita State volleyball is gearing up for spring action, opening at home against Kansas on March 28 at 10 a.m., followed by the Black & Yellow Scrimmage at Charles Koch Arena on April 3 at 5 p.m. WSU then hits the road for tournaments in Kansas City (April 11) and Gretna, Nebraska (April 25) for the Premier Nebraska Showcase hosted by Creighton.

🔼 Home Opener. The Shockers welcome the Jayhawks to Wilkins Stadium for their 2026 home opener today at 6 p.m. on ESPN+, riding a 7-3 mark over their last 10 games. Outfielder Ausha Moore is the engine right now, batting .846 over her last five games with three home runs and 10 runs scored, earning American Conference and Mid-Major Player of the Week honors. Transfer Trinity Allen is also heating up, batting .458 on the season after a 7-game hit streak. Kansas enters at 14-7 with a .346 team batting average and ranks fifth nationally in doubles. After Wednesday, WSU opens American Conference play at East Carolina from March 6–8.
