Good morning, Shocker Nation!  Harlond Beverly scored a game-high 16 points, marking his second straight 16-point outing, and Ronnie DeGray III grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds to lead Wichita State in a 63-59 road win at Rice Thursday night.

Wichita State (18-12, 8-9) snapped a two-game skid and has now won four of its last five road games to end the regular season.

Xavier Bell finished with 13 points. DeGray had a career night on the glass, grabbing 16 rebounds, including six offensive, to go with seven points.

🔼 This Bowler is the Bomb 💣. Wichita State senior Mary Orf was named Conference USA Co-Bowler of the Month. Orf shares the honor with Jade Cote of Youngstown State.

Orf has spearheaded the Shockers’ surge in the spring semester, powering Wichita State to three top-two finishes including a tournament win at the Columbia 300 Saints Invite. She was named Big Red Invite MVP and All-Tournament Team at the Columbia 300 Saints Invite, where she averaged 232.3 and 227.8, respectively.


🔼 Familiar Foe Incoming. The Wichita State baseball team welcomes longtime Missouri Valley Conference rivals Missouri State for a three-game series this weekend at Eck Stadium, starting with a 3 p.m. CT contest this afternoon. Please note this is an earlier game time than originally scheduled.

Today will be the 111th meeting all time between Wichita State and Missouri State, and the first official matchup since the 2019 season. The Shockers lead the all time series 63-47.

⚾️ : SCOUTING REPORT

🔼 Shockers to Paradise. Wichita State opens AAC play today in Boca Raton against the FAU Owls. Today’s game is at 5 p.m. CT, tomorrow’s game is at 11 a.m. and Sunday’s contest is at 11 a.m. This is the Shockers' first-ever trip to Boca Raton.

Wichita State started the season 5-0 for the first time since 1994 and just the third time in program history. The Shockers will be looking to get back in the W column after a 1-4 weekend in their home tournament.

🔼 Toe-to-Toe Tennis. In a match that saw four singles matches go to third sets, the Wichita State women's tennis team fell in a highly competitive match to the Memphis Tigers on Thursday afternoon at Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex, 4-3. Wichita State dropped to 6-6 with the defeat and 1-1 against American Athletic Conference opponents this season.

Next up, the Shockers begin their spring break trip on March 13 in Ruston, La., against Louisiana Tech at LA Tech Tennis Center.

🔼 Men’s Tennis Momentum. The Wichita State men's tennis team takes on New Mexico in Albuquerque this morning at 11 a.m. CT. Tomorrow, the squad takes on No. 67 Santa Clara at 10 a.m., also in Albuquerque.

After three straight heartbreaking 4-3 defeats, the Shockers (5-5) have won three consecutive matches.

Ilias Worthington leads the team singles wins with seven. In doubles, the pair of Alejandro Jacome and Kristof Minarik have won six matches to lead the team.

🔼 On the Hunt. Brad Pittman, senior associate AD/facilities and operations at Wichita State University, prepares for us for the NCAA Tournament later this month at Intrust Bank Arena.
