Wichita State men’s basketball locked up second place in the American with its sixth straight win, blowing past FAU 88-70 behind a suffocating second-half defensive effort. Junior guard Dre Kindell hounded FAU's Kanaan Carlyle, who had 20 first-half points , into a 1-for-6 second half, as the Owls missed their final 12 shots and went scoreless over the last 11:46. Dillon Battie posted career highs of 22 points and 12 rebounds, and Emmanuel Okorafor chipped in a career-best 16 on 8-of-11 shooting. The Shockers head to Birmingham needing two wins at the American Championship for an NCAA Tournament bid.

🔼 Ten Straight. Wichita State women’s tennis (12-3) gutted out a thrilling 4-3 road win over No. 42 Rice in Houston, their highest-ranked victory since beating No. 39 Gonzaga in 2019. Wichita State claimed the doubles point for the 11th straight match, then found itself in a battle after Rice took four of six first sets in singles. With the score knotted at 3-3 and three matches pushed to third sets, Vichitraporn Vimuktananda rallied from a 1-6 first-set loss to win 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5 and clinch it, her fifth match-clinching win this season. Xin Tong Wang and Giorgia Roselli also picked up key singles victories at the top of the lineup. Up next: a California road trip to face Arkansas State and Long Beach State.

🔼 Winning Ways. The Wichita State men's tennis team is riding a hot streak, knocking off No. 34 Oklahoma State 4-3 on Sunday afternoon to run its winning streak to five matches, the program's longest since 2021!

🔼 Seeing Double. Abby Cater and Jaila Harding gave Wichita State fans plenty to celebrate individually despite a 65-61 regular season-ending loss at Memphis. Cater was outstanding with a double-double, posting 19 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals, with the steals pushing her to No. 13 on the program's all-time single-season list with 71. Harding knocked down two more threes to finish her senior season with a program-record 82 three-pointers.
