🌾 ONE BIG THING

Through two rounds of the AAC Championship, Shocker men’s basketball is still dancing after taking down Rice on Wednesday and downing the No. 5 seed Memphis Tigers on Thursday, 71-65. The win snapped Wichita State’s nine-game losing streak against Memphis and ensured that the AAC would crown a new champion in 2024.

Harlond Beverly finished with a cluster of impressive stats, including a team-high 17 points scored, six rebounds, five steals and five blocks. Three-point specialist, Colby Rogers, finished with 13 points while Bijan Cortes canned 11 points, two of which iced the game in the final seconds. Wichita State will make its fifth American Championship quarterfinal appearance in seven years as the Shockers take on No. 4 UAB today at 2 p.m.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼  Zig Where They Zag. After a Wednesday night rout against Nebraska, Shocker baseball will take on Gonzaga in a three-game series at Eck Stadium. Entering the matchup, Wichita State is 10-6 on the season and 6-2 at home. The last time out for the Shockers saw the offense put up nine runs in the first two innings as the team cruised to a win.

🔼  Ready To Rock. Shocker women's golf is set to tee off at its second tournament of the week on Saturday when the team opens competition at the Red Rocks Invitational. The best finish for the Shockers in their four previous trips to Sedona was a tie for sixth place in 2022. The team will look to improve from its 15th-place finish in the Tulane Classic earlier this week.

🔼  Building Momentum. The Shocker women’s tennis team is rolling after picking up its fourth win in a row, and the first-ranked win of the season, over No. 66 Liberty on Wednesday. Now, Wichita State will prepare to take on two more ranked opponents this weekend as the Shockers fly out to Charlotte, NC, to face off against No. 47 Denver and No. 52 Charlotte. Xin Tong Wang and Theodora Chantava lead the Shockers in singles wins with eight apiece. Wang has won eight singles matches in a row and has not lost when playing in the second position this season.

🔼  Keep On Trucking. Wichita State softball continues in AAC play this weekend as the team will travel to take on East Carolina in a three-game series. The Shocker’s RPI is 33 as of March 11 and the Shockers have played the nation's 9th toughest schedule. Wichita State has won seven straight meetings and leads the overall series, 14-3. The Shockers have also won four in a row and are 5-1 all-time in Greenville.
