🌾 ONE BIG THING

Behind a masterful shooting performance from the Shockers on Senior Night, Wichita State took home the win in the final home game of the season, 87-66. The Shockers were 14-for-22 from three-point range. The 63.6 shooting percentage is the highest in school history on a minimum of 10 makes, and the 14 made triples is tied for the sixth most in school history. Colby Rogers recorded his second straight 20-point game with a game-high 25. He set a new career high with seven made three-pointers, going 7-for-9. Harlond Beverly scored a season-high 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting and a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Wichita State travels to New Orleans for the regular season finale at Tulane on Friday.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼  High Five. Shocker baseball won its fifth straight game, 5-0, after five pitchers combined for a five-hit shutout against Utah Tech. Over the weekend at Eck Stadium, Wichita State combined for 17 runs, allowing just one run, for the series sweep of the Bison. In the final game, Dayvin Johnson provided most of the offense, driving in four of the five Shocker runs. He got the scoring started with an RBI double in the bottom of the first and delivered the game's biggest swing in the bottom of the third, connecting for a three-run home run that extended the lead to 4-0. Wichita State will make the trip back to Oklahoma for another midweek contest on Tuesday, tussling with the Sooners on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

🔼  Roundhouse Finale. Wichita State women’s basketball’s second-half comeback fell short as the Shockers fell, 68-61, to UTSA in the final regular-season home game, and Senior Day, at Charles Koch Arena. Three Shockers finished in double figures with freshman Salese Blow leading all scorers with 18 points while Daniela Abies and DJ McCarty tallied 13 and 12 points, respectively. The Shockers will travel to UAB for its final regular-season game Tuesday at 6 p.m.

🔼  Weekend Split. Over the weekend at the Big Red Invitational, the Shockers finished 2-2 with big wins over Nebraska and a pair of losses against No. 14-ranked Missouri. Entering Saturday off a win, the Shockers fell to the Tigers in a run-rule in five innings, but Wichita State softball bounced back with a run-rule of Nebraska, 17-4, in six innings for the second win of the tournament. Sami Hood had a career day, going 4-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI. Addison Barnard scored three times with a homer and four RBI while Krystin Nelson went a perfect 3-for-3 in the game. In the final game of the weekend, the Shockers were unable to come from behind and fell 8-2 against Missouri.

🔼  Tale of Two Matches. Shocker men’s tennis traveled to Denver, CO, and ended the weekend 1-1 with a 4-1 win over Montana, and a 4-0 loss to the weekend’s hosts. On Saturday against the Grizzlies, Wichita State collected its first road win since the season opener with dominant showings from Alejandro Jacome and Ziwen Ju who each picked up a pair of wins. The final match in the Centennial State saw the Shockers fall to the No. 38-ranked team in the country. The team nearly stole the doubles point after Jacome and Marcelo Sepulveda took the first match, but the team was ultimately unable to secure any points in the contest.
