Good morning, Shocker Nation! The Wichita State bowling coach Holly Harris handed out white paper and asked the bowlers to draw their house last week. The Shockers drew those houses before the NCAA's Lansing Regional to expand on the motto that defines their postseason run, “Stay in our house." Harris used the phrase before the Conference USA Tournament, and it stuck with the team.  

"The concept started from not letting outside things affect us," senior Piper Reams said. "We can only control so much.”
 
The fourth-seeded Shockers meet top-seeded Jacksonville State at 11 a.m. this morning in Las Vegas in the Final Four semifinal. The championship is tomorrow.

🔼 No One-Trick Shockers. Wichita State WBB's Ella Anciaux and Taylor Jameson were selected to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
 
Anciaux graduates this spring with her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science and holds a cumulative GPA of 3.85. She played in 31 games this season for the Shockers, making 14 starts, leading the team in rebounding. Jameson is earning her Masters in Human Resources Management and holds a cumulative grad school GPA of 3.6. She played in 29 games for the Shockers, getting 28 starts and leading the team in scoring six times.

🔼 Whirlwind at Wichita State. The Wichita State Track & Field team is set to host the 77^th annual KT Woodman Classic today and tomorrow in Cessna Stadium following the Shocker Pre-State Challenge high school meet. Wichita State holds the best seed time/mark in seven events entering the meet.
 
High school events begin at 9 a.m. this morning for the Shocker Pre-State Challenge. College events for the KT Woodman Classic start at 5:50 p.m. this evening and at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Over three days, over 4,000 athletes from 184 schools will come through Cessna Stadium to compete.

🔼 Yo-Ho-Ho-Home Series. The Wichita State softball team returns home for a three-game series with East Carolina today through Sunday (Friday, April 11 | 6:00 PM CT; Saturday, April 12 | 6:00 PM; Sunday, April 13 | 12:00 PM). The Shockers are coming off a 2-1 weekend at UAB and now have three series wins in conference play, but they’re still searching for their first sweep of the season.
