📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Bye, Bye, Bye. Wichita State men's tennis earned the No. 5 seed for the American Conference Championship in Tulsa, their highest seed since 2021 and good enough for a first-round bye directly into the quarterfinals. The Shockers, who finished the regular season ranked No. 67, went 2-1 against American Conference opponents in the regular season, with wins over UTSA and Charlotte. The Shockers open play Friday at 10 a.m. CT against No. 4 seed South Florida.

🔼 Conference Stars. Two Wichita State softball standouts earned conference honors this week! Kinzey Woody earned American Player of the Week, while Ryley Nihart’s 2-0 record in 14 innings pitched with a 1.50 ERA and seven strikeouts earned her a conference honorable mention.
🔼 Best of the Week. Coming off a record-breaking weekend at the Arkansas Spring Invitational, Wichita State senior Jelese Alexander has been named American Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week. The Trinidad and Tobago native broke the Wichita State long jump school record with a 6.37m jump, ranking second in the American and 14th nationally, and cleared a personal-best 1.83m in the high jump to rank No. 1 in the conference and ninth in the nation. Alexander and the Shockers head to the Oregon Team Invitational on April 17-18.

🔼 On Par. Wichita State women's golf closed its regular season with a third-place finish at the Stampede at the Creek in Omaha, recording a 911 total (+47), just five strokes behind tournament winner Drake. Mackenzie Wilson saved her best for last with a final-round even-par 72 to leap 13 spots and tie for fifth, while Kayla Van de Ven set a career best by also tying for fifth, her third top-10 of the season. Manon Guille tied for 10th, and all six Shockers finished in the top 30. The result gave Wichita State its seventh top-five team finish of the season, the most since 2018. The Shockers head next to the American Conference Women's Golf Championship, beginning April 20 in Florida.
