🌾 ONE BIG THING

For the second time in two weeks, Shocker track and field high jumper, Brady Palen, was named the AAC Field Athlete of the Week. The senior leaper cleared an outdoor best of 2.20m/7’2.5” to win the high jump event at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. Palen has now jumped over seven feet 19 times in his career, and his most recent clearance ties for fifth in the NCAA and leads the AAC by nine centimeters.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Late Rally. Shocker baseball staged a comeback late in the game, but it wasn’t enough as the team fell 9-5 to Oklahoma State on Tuesday night. The Shockers out-hit the Cowboys 14-8 but stranded a team-high 16 runners on base. After giving up five runs through the first three innings, the Shockers came to life in the fifth inning to score two runs while Lane Haworth and Kam Durnin helped bring in three runs in the eighth and ninth innings.

🔼 Sea of Yellow. Alison Cooper came in relief to hold the top-ranked Sooners scoreless during her six innings of work, but Shocker softball was unable to plate any runners in the 7-0 loss. Cooper allowed only six hits and struck out five in her performance in the circle to highlight the night. The Shockers had four hits on the night, with Addison Barnard knocking the only extra-base hit for the Black and Gold.

🔼 Split Results. Shocker women’s tennis completed its doubleheader, splitting the two matches to finish 1-1 at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex. The Shockers fell to Tulsa 4-1 and bounced back to sweep UMKC, 4-0 later in the day. Xin Tong Wang finished as the only Shocker to win both her singles matches playing on Court 1 in both matchups.

🗣️ "It was great to bounce back with a good and complete performance against UMKC. We're still getting stronger, more confident, and the most important thing for us now is just staying resilient." - Collin Foster

🔼 Final Round. Wichita State women's golf wrapped up its final regular season tournament of the year with a ninth-place finish in the Oral Roberts Spring Invitational. Kate Tilma finished as the low Shocker on the team after tying for 26th with a 12-over-par tournament.
