πΎ ONE BIG THING

Pitch Perfect. Though Riceβs Treyton Rank hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to lift Rice to a 4-3 win over the Wichita State baseball team on Friday night in the extra-innings thriller, the Shockers had an impressive showing.
WSU reliever Nick Potter turned in the best outing of his career, firing four hitless, scoreless innings with six strikeouts to get the game to the 12th. Jordan Rogers set the program's career hit by pitch record with his 51st and 52nd HBPs, the latter coming leading off the top of the ninth inning.

πΌ Allβs Well That Ends Well. The Wichita State baseball team took advantage of nine walks and five hit by pitches to pile up a season-high 18 runs in an 18-7 victory over Rice on Sunday afternoon.
The game was called after eight innings due to the 10-run rule.
The Shockers (16-34, 8-16) scored in each of their final five innings, including big frames of four, five and seven runs. All nine Shockers scored a run and eight of the nine Shockers recorded a hit and an RBI.

πΌ Fearless in the 400. Joakim Genereux knew the 400 meters is a test of grit and fitness for a sprinter and he agreed to take on the challenge before coming to Wichita State. He did not know it would take almost three years to learn the essence of the race.
"To run a good 400, you cannot be scared," he said. "I go for it. I'm not scared anymore."
Genereux ranks second in WSU's indoor 200 career list (21.35 seconds) and fourth in the 400 (48.02). Outdoors, he is No. 3 in the 200 (20.91). He is the first leg in the 1,600-meter relay team that set the school record indoors (3:08.25) and outdoors (3:07.71) this season.

πΌ Holding Court. Wichita State tennis coaches Darragh Glavin and Colin Foster join the podcast to discuss continued progress by both programs in 2024-25. Foster, who coaches the Shocker women, talks about how the Shockers added depth to its lineup and how an uncomfortable team meeting before a match turned into a positive.
Glavin, in his third season as men's coach, talks about setting a culture and learning on the job. We break down why the AAC is one of the nation's top tennis conferences and why Shocker tennis enjoys a strong connection with the Wichita tennis community.
