Good morning, Shocker Nation. Brent Kemnitz is retiring June 30 after 48 years at Wichita State and one of the most decorated careers in program history. He joined the baseball staff in 1978 as a graduate assistant under Gene Stephenson and spent 38 seasons as pitching coach, helping build the Shockers into a national powerhouse with seven College World Series appearances and the 1989 NCAA title. His staff produced nine first-round draft picks.

Kemnitz transitioned to the athletics development staff in 2016, becoming a fixture at events across Wichita and a tireless ambassador for Shocker athletics. He is a member of five halls of fame, including the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame (2023) and the Pizza Hut Shocker Sports Hall of Fame (2022).

🔼 Shocker GOLD. The Wichita State University Foundation & Alumni Engagement is launching the Shocker GOLD Alumni Network on May 28, and as part of membership, graduates within the last 10 years have access to discounted men's basketball season tickets and exclusive perks.

Alumni who graduated within five years can purchase up to four discounted seats in sections 125 and 126, earn priority points, and receive two $25 concession gift cards, while those six to 10 years out are eligible for discounted upper bowl seats with similar benefits. All members will be invited to an exclusive annual networking event in one of Charles Koch Arena's premium spaces during a select home game, and a new referral incentive program rewards members who bring fellow recent grads into the fold.

🔼 Next Level. Congratulations to Wichita State basketball alum Landry Shamet and the New York Knicks for advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals! The Eastern Conference Finals are currently slated to begin on May 17 or May 19, as the Knicks await the winner of the Detroit Pistons vs. Cleveland Cavaliers series.

🔼 On Deck. The final regular season series of the season gets underway tomorrow as the Shockers take on South Florida in Tampa. The series runs from Thursday through Saturday, with tomorrow’s first pitch set for 5:35 p.m.
