Good morning, Shocker Nation! Wichita State baseball scored in six of their eight offensive innings and got three scoreless innings from the bullpen in a 9-5 win over Memphis on Thursday night at Eck Stadium.

The win, combined with UAB's loss to Florida Atlantic, means Wichita State can clinch a spot in the AAC tournament with one win in the final two games of the series.

The Shockers (18-34, 9-16) banged out 13 hits.

🔼 Love For L-Squared. For the third time in her career, Wichita State outfielder Lauren Lucas has earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region honors. Wichita State has placed at least one on the All-Central Region teams every season since 2018.

Lucas was named to the NFCA All-Central Region Third Team after another standout season on the diamond for the Shockers. She returned to action after missing all of the 2024 season with a shoulder injury to lead the team in batting average (.378), hits (62) and on base percentage (.493). Last week, the outfielder was named a First Team All-Conference honoree for a third time. She was also an NFCA Third Team All-Central Region selection in 2022 and 2023.

🔼 We’re Not JK About JK. Wichita State's Jenna Kuepker highlighted day one of the AAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, claiming a spot on the podium in the javelin Thursday at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center.
 
Kuepker threw 47.76m/156'8" on her fifth throw to secure the bronze medal in her first championship meet with the Shockers, claiming the first podium placement of the meet for Wichita State and earning all-conference recognition.
 
Six other Shockers scored points on the first day of competition.
