🔼 To Fayetteville. Wichita State is sending 12 athletes (nine men and three women) to the NCAA West Preliminaries at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Ark., with four already in qualifying position for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene. Josh Parrish enters seeded fifth in the long jump and 11th in the 110-meter hurdles, twin brother Jason Parrish is the fifth seed in the 400-meter hurdles, and Jelese Alexander sits eighth in the high jump. The Parrish twins make their third trip to regionals, while seven Shockers will make their debut. Competition runs Wednesday through Saturday, with the top 12 in each event advancing to Eugene.

Wichita State student-athletes set a new school record for cumulative academic-year GPA at 3.507 while posting the third-highest semester GPA in program history at 3.504 this spring. It marks the 42nd consecutive semester above a 3.0 department-wide. Of 220 student-athletes on the honor roll, 55 earned a perfect 4.0, and 83 percent of all student-athletes finished above a 3.0. The marks also continue to blow past the department's five-year strategic academic goals set in 2022, a target of hitting a 3.4 once in 10 semesters has now been achieved six times.
