🌾 ONE BIG THING

Wichita State completed a sweep of Memphis with a 10-5 win this weekend, clinching a share of the American Conference regular-season title and capping one of the most dominant stretches in program history. The Shockers won 14 straight conference games after sitting at 7-6 in league play on April 2, rattling off four consecutive series sweeps to match South Florida at 21-6. Ausha Moore belted her 22nd homer of the season, tied for third on the program's single-season list, while Mackenzie Rooney drove in four runs with a homer and a two-RBI single. Jade Sanders locked things down with 2.2 innings of one-run relief.

It's Wichita State's fifth regular-season conference title and third in the American, with the Shockers heading to Greenville, N.C., as the No. 2 seed for Friday's semifinal.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 10 Wins. Wichita State racked up 10 event victories at the Rock Chalk Classic while the Parrish twins delivered quality marks at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial in Athens. Josh Parrish ran a personal-best 13.46 in the 110-meter hurdles to move to No. 14 nationally and No. 1 in the American Conference. In Lawrence, Darius Graham cleared a collegiate-best 2.09 meters to win the men's high jump, and the Shockers swept both steeplechase races; freshman Austin Carrera broke nine minutes for the first time with an 8:54.42, the No. 9 time in school history. Chairo Ogbebor won the 200 meters with a personal-best 21.25, and Zada Brown took the women's 200 to give the Shockers the sweep. Wichita State hosts its first meet on its brand-new track next Friday at the Shocker Open.

🔼 A Season To Remember. No. 34 Wichita State women's tennis fell 4-1 to No. 26 SMU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Norman, ending a historic season at 21-5. The Shockers nearly grabbed the doubles point after Anne Knuettel and Vichitraporn Vimuktananda won at No. 3, but SMU rallied from a 5-4 deficit to take the deciding match 7-5 at No. 2. Vimuktananda earned the Shockers' lone singles point with a dominant 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 4. Despite the loss, Wichita State's 2026 campaign included the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018, a 19-match winning streak, and an American Conference runner-up finish.
