Shocker Brew 5/6: Headline Honors
Plus: What's on deck.

Good morning, Shocker Nation. Wichita State freshman Kinzey Woody became the first player in American Conference history to earn both Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the same season, headlining a loaded list of Shocker postseason honors. Woody was a unanimous First Team and All-Freshman selection after hitting .476 in conference play with 12 homers, 36 RBI, and just five strikeouts.

Ausha Moore joined her on the First Team after a breakout sophomore campaign that produced 22 homers and a program-record 46 walks, while pitcher Ryley Nihart moved up from Second Team to First Team after logging 105 conference innings. Trinity Allen and Kammie Smith earned Second Team nods, and Coach Kristi Bredbenner's staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year for the third time. The No. 2 seed Shockers open the American Conference Championship Friday at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
