📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Season Finale. The baseball regular season has officially come to a close, and WSU are headed to the AAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed in the conference.

In their last series of the season against UCF, the Shockers split the opening double header after lighting up the scoreboard with 27 total runs across the two games. WSU fell in the opening game in a barn-burning 16-15 score, and nearly made a comeback with a seven run ninth inning. The the second game of the doubleheader, the Shockers again put up a run-filled ninth inning, scoring six and securing a victory to split the series.

In the final game of the regular season, the defense put on a solid performance, but came up a run short after some great pitching from relievers Zach Chappell and Nick Viera who did not surrender a hit over the last 5.1 innings. Now, the Shockers head into postseason play tomorrow for a chance at a regular season title and an NCAA Tournament berth.

🔼 A Season To Remember. Don’t be sad that it’s over, smile because it happened. This WSU softball team gave us plenty of amazing moments this season, and instilled Shocker Nation with a ton of pride. Here are just a couple of things this team accomplished this season:

  • 44 total wins

  • 1 AAC Regular Season title

  • 12 straight weeks in the Top 25

  • 3 Top 10 wins

This team will always be remembered, and to the seniors, what a ride it was. Until next year!

🔼 Postseason Prep. Shockers baseball heads into Clearwater, FL to make their way towards something they have not done before: win an AAC title. In the first round, WSU will take on Memphis who the Shockers defeated twice earlier in the season. First pitch is this Tuesday at 5:00pm. It’s time to shake things up in the AAC!

🌾 ONE BIG THING

After an unbelievable season, Shocker softball is officially done for the year after suffering an elimination game loss to Nebraska Saturday night. WSU came roaring all the back to tie the game and forced the game into extra innings.

Nebraska scored the game’s winning run, and sent the Shockers home during the NCAA Regional round of play. The 2023 season however will be one our student- athletes and fans will remember for years to come.
