What else are we mixing into today’s Brew?
👟 Two Shockers claim All-American status
⚾️ Summer ball teams announced
🌾 And much, much more!
🌾 ONE BIG THING
After his high-flying performance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Brady Palen was named a First Team All-American for the second time in his collegiate career. The Shocker senior cleared 2.17m on his second attempt to place eighth in the high jump — the second-highest finish in Shocker history.

🔼 Takes Two. Shocker track and field standout Destiny Masters earned her fourth and fifth career All-America honors with her top-16 performances in the high jump and heptathlon on the final day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The junior cleared 1.77m to tie for 15th in the high jump and finished 13th in the heptathlon to claim two Second Team All-American awards. Masters is now the only high jumper in Shocker history to claim two outdoor All-America awards.
🔼 Summer Ball. Summer collegiate baseball is underway and Wichita State baseball has several players competing in leagues across the country. 19 Shockers will play for 11 different teams before re-convening in the fall.
🔼 Figure Eight. After a year where they went 13-10, reached a ranking as high as No. 55, and took down their highest-ranked opponent since 2021, Shocker women's tennis was ranked eighth in the ITA Central Region rankings. The No. 8 ranking for the Shockers is their highest since the 2018 season when the team came in at number four. This season, the Shockers reached as high as No. 55 and were ranked in six of the year's in-season polls.
