What else are we mixing into today’s Brew?

🥎 A pair of Academic All-Americans
👟 Star duo gets set for USA Olympic Trials
🌾 And much, much more!

🌾 ONE BIG THING

Wichita State’s own CC Wong will take her talents to the global stage after earning a spot on the Canadian Women's National Softball Team. Wong’s selection makes her just the second Shocker softball player ever to be chosen to represent her home country. Team Canada is set to compete in the P5 Colorado event later this month, and at the beginning of July, will showcase their skills in the Canada Cup.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Time Starts Now. Coming off of All-American performances at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Destiny Masters and Brady Palen will head to the United States Olympic Team Trials to compete in the high jump. Each Shocker accepted entries to the trials and will start qualifying rounds on June 22 (women’s) and June 27 (men’s).

🔼 All Around Athletes. More All-America honors roll in for Wichita State seniors CC Wong and Addison Barnard, this time in the classroom. Wong and Barnard were named to CSC Academic All-America Teams. Wong is a first-time Academic All-American, earning CSC First Team honors while Barnard was named to the CSC Second Team, becoming the first Shocker to repeat as an Academic All-American.

🔼 Top of the Game. Shocker track and field and cross country had 10 student-athletes selected to a CSC Academic All-District Team. The five Wichita State men selected are Bryan Haney, Adam Rzentkowski, Luke Porter, Hudson Bailey and Caden Carlson, and the women are Marissa Jensen, Tess Roman, Chidera Okoro, Mattelyn Swartz and Sydney Brown.

Comprised of the nation’s top student-athletes, honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and be a sophomore or older to be considered for the award.

🔼 Moving The Bus. The Shocker Caravan may be coming to a city near you, Shocker Nation! Wichita State Athletics will be making two stops this summer for all of Shocker Nation to interact with the faces of Shocker sports. Both events will feature an official program with appearances from multiple WSU coaches, including Paul Mills, Terry Nooner, Brian Green, Kristi Bredbenner and student-athletes from various programs.
