The Future Has Arrived, One Big Thing, and much more!
Good morning! Shocker alum Craig Porter Jr. is ready to put Shocker Nation on the map once again as he prepares for the NBA Draft later this month. Hear from him as he shares his journey from JUCO to DI, and what it takes to be a great basketball player.

🔼 The Future Has Arrived. “This isn’t a rebuild. There’s a lot of good players on this field and there’s a lot of good talent coming in and that’s a tribute to the coaching staff.”
The fifth baseball coach in Wichita State history, Brian Green, made himself clear that this is a team that can compete now, and will be able to compete in the future. After arriving at Eck Stadium Wednesday for his introductory press conference, Green couldn’t help but take in the long-standing history the Shocker program holds. “It’s Wichita State. It’s history. There’s no ceiling.” Exactly what you want to hear from your newest hire.
For more on Coach Green, and his thoughts on the future, the rapport he wants to build, and how he is fostering relationships with current players, read more here.
🔼 Last, But Certainly Not Least. Track and field will wrap up the collegiate athletics season for most of the universities around the country, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still a lot at stake for our Shocker student-athletes.
Both Destiny Masters and Brady Palen are set to represent WSU as they take on the NCAA Outdoor Championships down in Austin, TX. Palen will be competing in the men’s high jump tonight at 7:30pm, and Masters will compete in the women’s high jump on Saturday night at 7:30pm.
Palen is the first Shocker since 1982 to compete in the men’s high jump at the national level, and enters with the 14th best jump in the nation
Masters, competing in her first-ever NCAA Championships, also enters with the 14th best clearance in the nation. She is competing for WSU as the first women’s student-athlete in nationals since 2019.
Stay up to date on our Shockers this weekend as they try to bring back some hardware not just for themselves, but for all of Shocker Nation.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: 249-201-1!
We didn’t really expect you to know this off the top of your head, but if you did, kudos to you; you’ve done your homework.
Coach Green has amassed a .553 winning percentage over nine seasons as both an assistant and head coach at the DI level. Let’s see if we can’t add a good amount more to the win column for him next season!
Have a great weekend, y’all.
