Good morning, Shocker Nation. Wichita State lost one of the most important figures in program history with the passing of Natasha Fife, 89, who died Friday. Fife helped launch Wichita State's women's athletic program in 1969 and became the university's first women's director of intercollegiate athletics in 1974, building the foundation that generations of Shocker student-athletes have benefited from ever since.

Beyond her administrative legacy, she was one of Kansas' greatest golfers as a seven-time Kansas Senior Amateur winner and member of both the Kansas Golf and Kansas Sports Halls of Fame.
