⚾️ Shockers land a speedy transfer
⏰ The countdown continues of the top stories from 2023-24
🌾 And much, much more!
🌾 ONE BIG THING
Davis Mauzy, the speedster from Idaho, is headed to Wichita to join the roster for the 2025 season. Last season, the centerfielder was a JUCO All-American and was named the NWAC East Region MVP.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 No. 6: Coming in at the number six spot is when high jumper Brady Palen returned to track and field's big stage and added to his All-American credentials while distance runner Lucy Ndungu beat the odds to earn her big moment.
Palen earned All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships by placing eighth while also winning in the outdoor and indoor high jump, earning All-American honors along the way. As for Ndungu, coming from community college, she placed second in the AAC cross country meet in October, and in June, placed 17th in the 10,000m at the NCAA Championships, good for honorable mention All-American honors.
🔼 No. 5: Shocker baseball’s final week in Florida under first-year head coach Brian Green places the team at number five. Shocker baseball made its first big impression at the AAC Championship with an exciting run to its first title game as a conference member. After a difficult April, the Shockers vowed to heat up in May and they did so, coming up just short of a return to NCAA play.
🗣️ "They stayed focused on the process and played some really good baseball at the end of the season. I'm really proud of the things they did and how they set us up for the future." - Brian Green
