Shocker In The Show, One Big Thing, and much more!

🔼 Shocker In The Show. After taking some time away from the game to rehab an injury, former Shocker baseball star Alec Bohm is stepping it up with the red hot Philadelphia Phillies. Since we last checked in, Bohm has come up with six hits in three games, including a four-hit, two home run game that lead to his squad putting up 19 runs in a single game. If we know Bohm, we know that the hits are just going to keep on coming.
🔼 Chasing History. Last season’s AAC All-Conference First Team selection Brylee Kelly will enter into 2023 as one of the leaders on the court for Shocker volleyball. The 6-foot-2 outside hitter will come in to the season just 14 kills away from entering the 1,000 digit mark, and based off her recent play, she should have no trouble reaching this milestone.
🔼 Save the Date! The inaugural Black and Yellow Gala will be later this summer on August 19th at the Charles Koch Arena. The event will go directly toward the support of all Shocker student-athletes and teams. Join us for this fantastic fundraising event by purchasing tickets down below.

On June 23, 2016, Shockers guard Fred VanVleet reminded us all to ‘bet on yourself’, and after winning an NBA Championship and becoming a key piece on the Toronto Raptors roster for the past seven seasons, that bet has finally paid off.
VanVleet has so far been one of this year’s NBA Free Agency winners after receiving a three-year, $130 million dollar contract to join the Houston Rockets. After signing on the dotted line, he became the first undrafted player in the history of the NBA to sign for a $100M+ contract. If you need any extra motivation this Monday morning, here it is: like Fred, don’t be afraid to bet on yourself.
