Good morning, Shocker Nation. Head Shocker Volleyball Coach Chris Lamb has coached many strong setters during his 26 seasons at Wichita State. Sometimes, he coached two at the same time.
 
Abby Harsh and Andee Hartig played together early in Lamb's tenure, 2004 and 2005. Mary Elizabeth Hooper and Chelsey Feekin overlapped in 2008 and 2009. Feekin tutored Emily Hiebert in 2013 before Hiebert took over the starting job.
 
Three is a new circumstance. Hannah Hawkins is a junior transfer from High Point (N.C.) University. Sarah Musial is a redshirt freshman returner. Jordan Heatherly, a junior transfer from Memphis, is the latest arrival. At Memphis, Heatherly ranked fifth in the American Conference with an average of 9.49 assists a set and fourth in service aces (0.39 a set) in 2024.

That trio competes to replace Izzi Strand, who earned All-American Conference honors and honorable mention All-Region North honors in her two seasons at WSU.

Another Team That Rolls Deep. The Wichita State women's golf team begins the 2025-26 season at the Jayhawk Club in Kansas' Jayhawk Invitational, which started yesterday and wraps today.
 
Head coach Tom McCurdy views this year's group as the deepest he's had as he enters his 19^th  season at the helm of the Shockers.

🔼 Shockers Helping Shockers. Building on the inspiring momentum sparked by Shane and Kianne Prill, Rick and Barbara Hemphill have made a heartfelt and impactful investment in both Wichita State Athletics and our community. The Hemphills have purchased an additional 50 season tickets for the 2025-26 Wichita State MBB season. They are donating them to community organizations, including United Way affiliates, veterans, and Stand Together.

The donation will allow hundreds of mentor-mentee pairs to enjoy unforgettable nights together during the season — strengthening bonds, fostering inspiration, and connecting local youth to the energy of college athletics.

🔼 Court is Nearly in Session. Wichita State men's tennis head coach Darragh Glavin announced Thursday his team's fall schedule for the upcoming season. The team has seven events on this year's fall schedule, including three guaranteed team competitions.

The Shockers will begin the fall season on Sept. 19 at the 2025 ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, featuring the nation's top NCAA Division I tennis players. Ten singles players will qualify for the 2025 NCAA Singles Championships, and four doubles tandems will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championships.
