They Went “Fore” It. Sophomore Kayla Van de Ven and senior Mackenzie Wilson each tied for tenth to lead the Wichita State women's golf team to a fourth-place team finish at the Jayhawk Invitational on Monday at the Jayhawk Club.
The Shockers’ fourth-place finish came behind round scores of 306, 307, and 305. In their opening round of the season, Van de Ven and Wilson came out firing, with Wilson posting a 74 and Van de Ven a 75, putting them both in the top ten through the opening round.
Competing as an individual, Amelie Paul also impressed, posting her own 74 round score, putting three Shockers in the tournament top ten through the first 18 holes.
